Burlington Capital Ag Services Internship

Burlington Capital LLC has an opportunity available for the exceptional college student with an interest in international business, economics and/or finance. This intern will work with the Executive Vice President of Cantera Partners (see more here: https://canterapartners.com ). We anticipate this internship will require three days of work per week, 8am to 5pm (days to be determined with mentor).

Learning opportunities will include

I. Monetization Support

  • Active Sales Management: Support the completion of current monetization sales by:
    • Ensuring all documentation complies with financing and purchase agreement standards
    • Assisting in the management of the sales process
    • Monitoring contract completion to ensure professional execution
  • Desk Research and Market Profile: Conduct research on commodity transactions in various countries
  • Pricing Data Collection: Gather and analyze price data for commodities in relevant markets.
  • Survey Design and Organization: Develop surveys and assist in coordination with buyers to assess the impact of transactions on their businesses.
  • Ongoing Price Data Collection and Econometric Analysis:
    • Track commodity prices in relevant markets and compare with global price trends.
  • Post-Monetization Assessment: Contribute to the drafting of a comprehensive assessment covering:
    • Sales process summary
    • Market capability to manage delivered commodities
    • Market disruptions and their causes
    • Price trends before, during, and after monetization
  • Strong econometric and technical writing skills are essential for this task

II. DFC (U.S. International Development Finance Corporation)

  • DFC trade finance loan: develop applications and continue analyzing opportunities
  • Work on financial modeling as related to DFC trade finance application

III. Support for Other Cantera Initiatives

  • Ukraine Fund Assistance: Provide research and operational support for Cantera’s involvement in Ukraine.
  • Foundation Monetization: Assist in exploring opportunities for monetization on behalf of foundations.
  • Business Development: Schedule and coordinate meetings with key industry stakeholders.
  • Marketing and Social Media: Contribute to marketing efforts and maintain social media presence as needed.
  • Commercial Trade Opportunities: Identify and pursue relevant commercial trade opportunities.
  • Vendor Registration: Assist in registering Cantera as a designated vendor within various commodity supplier systems.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Working toward bachelor’s degree in Business, International focus a plus

  • Must be a minimum of Junior year status by December 2025

  • GPA minimum of 3.5

  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills
